Licence Previous Resident Returning to Saskatchewan
If it has been less than five years since you last held a Saskatchewan
driver's licence, you can simply re-apply for a driver's licence
at any Saskatchewan motor licence issuing office. You will be required
to pay applicable renewal fees before you are issued a licence.
If it has been more than five years since you last held a Saskatchewan
driver's licence, and you are moving back from another Canadian
jurisdiction, the United States, the United Kingdom, Switzerland,
South Korea, Germany or Austria, and you held a valid driver's licence there,
you can apply for a Saskatchewan driver's licence at any Saskatchewan
motor licence issuing office. You will be required to surrender
your out-of-province licence at the time you apply for a Saskatchewan
driver's licence, and you will be required to pay applicable renewal
fees.
Customers applying for a Saskatchewan driver's licence who currently
hold a valid driver's licence issued by another state or country
(other than those listed above) must complete written, vision and
road tests before they are issued a Saskatchewan driver's licence.
Please note that new residents wishing to drive in the province
must obtain a Saskatchewan driver's licence within 90 days of moving
to the province, or upon expiry of their out-of-province driver's
licence, whichever is earliest. Your previous jurisdiction may have
some restrictions that supersede this requirement.
