SGI Grant for Aboriginal Driver Education

SGI provides grants that help fund the costs associated with driver training for Aboriginal people enrolled in adult learning programs.

The SGI Grant for Aboriginal Driver Education is open to Saskatchewan residents attending accredited adult education institutions in Saskatchewan. The program runs continually throughout the year. Students may receive only one SGI grant during their studies.

In addition, the Aboriginal funding is open to adult education centres, Tribal Councils and Bands that are interested in creating partnerships with SGI. However, funding is certainly not limited to these organizations. To determine the amount of funding, SGI will look at how much training is required in addition to how much funding is currently being offered by the organization, Tribal Council, Band, etc.

Please note: The SGI Grant for Aboriginal Driver Education is available only to individuals who hold a valid Class 7 learner's licence and are pursuing their Class 5 driver’s licence.
