SGI CANADA Charity Classic Another Success!
Thanks to proceeds from the 2002 SGI CANADA Charity Classic, the Saskatchewan division of the Canadian Diabetes Association has $32,500 more to use for its initiatives in the province. The amount is among the highest ever raised in the ten-year history of the event.
Since 1993, the SGI CANADA Charity Classic has raised close to a quarter million dollars for local charities. The Charity Classic is organized and staffed by volunteers. All operating revenue is raised through ticket sales and sponsorship from SGI CANADA brokers and business partners.
This year, the Diabetes Association was chosen as the recipient charity. The $32,500 cheque was presented on Monday, Oct. 14 - the last day of the Classic. The Diabetes Association provides funding for research, education and support to fight diabetes in Saskatchewan.
